Hi and Welcome to the last Complementary Fitness Newsletter of 2012
Wishing you a very healthy, happy and fit New Year

LIFESTYLE AND WELLNESS
Working off the Christmas and festive holiday excess:
Are you planning to work off those mince pies and chocolates that you ate over the holidays?
We all consume many more calories and do less exercise over the holidays than ‘normal’ which is great at the time, we enjoy socializing with family and friends, have a few extra celebratory glasses of wine and it’s so easy to pile on the pounds.
While I had the norovirus and was in bed for 4 or 5 days, I didn’t feel like eating and actually lost about 4 or 5lbs but on the road to recovery, enjoyed my dark 70% chocolate too much (oh well it was Christmas!), coffees and lunches with family and before I knew it, I’d gained the weight back again. I love having a break from the norm, no classes or work for a while, chilling out, watching films and then after a while, I want to get back into ‘the routine’ again and start to miss you, my classes, teaching and the social aspect of our friendly classes too.

I’m starting to put together new music, routines, sequences and looking forward to seeing you all in classes and hope that you are too.
Your Passport To Fitness begins with our first class of 2013 on Tue 8 January in Craiglockhart Church Hall (Fitness Pilates) then all Dreghorn Loan Hall classes start back 9, 10 and 11 January.
It might be advisable to book your place now for Tuesday and/or Thursday Fitness Pilates in advance email me: info@complementaryfitness.co.uk See Classes on the website for details.

Health & Lifestyle
Chia seeds should be soaked before eating – they are a great source of fibre and help to lower cholesterol, plus they’re full of protein omegas & calcium.

Steps To Self Care:
If it feels wrong, don’t do it
Say “exactly” what you mean
Don’t be a people pleaser
Trust your instincts
Never speak bad about yourself
Never give up on your dreams
Never be afraid to say “no”
Never be afraid to say “yes”
Be kind to yourself
Let go of what you can’t control
Stay away from drama and negativity as much as possible

Something to think about
Rather than saying “I’ll never be able to do it” instead say things like “Tomorrow is another day and I will try it a different way.

Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy.

You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full of yesterday’s junk.

Did you know?
That pumping iron doesn’t just blast your bingo wings – it helps keep your heart healthy and your body disease-free too.

(just for fun)… Science Fact: if you took all the veins from your body and laid them end to end, you would die!

Lastly, I wish you and your family a very happy, healthy fit New Year and look forward to seeing you in class/es soon.
