Did you know that
Nicola’s last 2014 Thursday 6.30pm Insanity class (Dreghorn Loan Hall) is on this Thursday so come and join us. A big THANK YOU to everyone who came to the class on Friday 5 Dec when Nicola taught a short, mini Insanity class to show us what it’s all about. Everyone did so well – I was so proud of everyone. If you’d like to join Nicola’s 40/45 minute Thursday classes in the New Year, come along and join us at 6.30pm Thursdays from 8 Jan – check out upcoming Newsletters for dates/details.
Also, Nicola’s Saturday 9.15am Metafit class is on if you want to join her in the Meadows.
Nicola’s first Fitness Birthday was 2 Dec – one whole year as an amazing, inspiring and motivational Fitness Instructor – woo hoo. Year 2 has started.
Thank you for feedback/comment about classes:
“Since working out in Susan’s classes, I am more aware of ease in my joints.
I really do notice the difference if I miss a couple of classes”. (Ursula)
“Thank you for the candle light Pilates last night (2 Dec) I really enjoyed it.
Looking forward to next week (9 Dec) already” (Melisa)
Something to think about:
It’s Monday. Breathe. Set the tone for your week by taking this in:
“Life has a much bigger plan for you. Happiness is part of that plan.
Health is part of that plan. Stability is part of that plan. Constant struggle is not” – kriscarr.com
“Grant me the strength to keep my heart open this week… to forgive and let go…to acknowledge my patterns of stress and to release them…to be present, mindful and kind” – Nick Ortner, TheTappingSolution.com
Learning to take time for ourselves, to relax, focus on deep and relaxed breathing can help us to relieve any tension in our mind and body. Plan relaxation into your day, taking 5 or 10 minutes to consciously breathe fully (not just the short, shallow breaths we take normally), relax our shoulders away from our ears. If you can, close your eyes (obviously not when your driving – ha ha), breathe in, expanding your ribcage, fill your lungs, and focus on breathing in “relaxation, peace and calm”, holding it for a few seconds/counts then as you fully exhale out through your mouth, focus on “releasing any unwanted tension in the body and mind”. Do this in a safe, relaxed, calm environment. Even a few deep breaths like this can make such a huge difference – making you more relaxed, peaceful, centred and calm. Give it a try.
We’ll practice this more on Tuesday and Thursday in our Pilates by Candlelight classes at 7.30pm.
Dr Mercola has a really interesting article about eating trans fats and dementia and it begins:
“There are a number of dietary links between dementia and heart disease. Excessive sugar/processed fructose, grains, and trans fat consumption are three factors that promote both”. Further into the article, it says “trans fat clogs your arteries, not saturated fat” and later: “you need saturated fat for healthy brain function”. Read the whole article at:
Here’s another Dr Mercola article all about a gluten free/low carb paleo diet which seems to be big news at the moment for so many with wheat and other intolerances:
