HEALTH and LIFESTYLE

Did you know that
this week starts our 3 weeks of pre-Christmas classes to get fit and trim and looking fabulous till we break for the holidays so come and join us soon. We finish up on Fri 12 Dec and we start back again on Tue 6 Jan – put the dates in your diary and book up.
Note: the 2 Tuesday and Thursday Fitness Pilates classes in December, we’ll have ‘Pilates by Candlelight’ classes too so remember to bring your tea light and holder with you then.
In those December classes, we’ll still warm up and work out but 20-30 minutes at the end, will be about relaxation, stretching, de-stressing and breathing.
Sounds good to me! You?

That one of ‘our ladies’ recently told me that she went for a health check up/MOT and was told that her metabolic age is younger than she is – all the exercises she does has helped Woo hoo, fabulous, great news and good to hear!

Nicola’s Thursday 6.30pm Insanity class (Dreghorn Loan Hall) is on so come and join us.
You can read about her class in this blog. Someone in our class was asking if Nicola would come and give us a short (15 minute) session of Insanity to see what it’s like. I asked the class on Friday and most said they’d be up for trying it out. So Nicola’s coming along next Friday 5 Dec at 9.30am – come and join us. Normally her 6.30pm Thurs class is 40 mins but the 15 minute session will give us a flavour of the session. Like all classes, everyone does what they can, it’s not a competition, you don’t have to be an athlete to take part in Insanity (or Metafit), you adapt, you’re encouraged to take easier options which are shown/demonstrated if and when necessary and you improve over time. The remainder of next Friday’s class will still be Fitness Yoga Stretch.

Her Saturday 9.15am Metafit class is not on 29 Nov as she’s leading the warm up for all the runners in the 13k race at Foxlake Adventures in Dunbar. Nicola is also running the race too. There are lots to do and see on the day including the John Muir Carnival.
Nicola’s Saturday morning Metafit class is back next Saturday 6 Dec though.

Diary Dates:
Wednesday 17 December details in recent Newsletter if you’d like to join in.

Something to think about:
Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goals to be proud of yourself.
Be proud of every step that you take moving forwards and reaching your goal.

When you set yourself any goal (fitness/health/whatever), be open and willing to move through and past any obstacles. You can always adjust, re-evaluate but keep moving forward.

What are you goals for this week? Let me know – email me.
They may be…
to eat more healthy, nutritious meals and snacks
have no more than 1 caffeinated or decaffeinated drink a day
to get outside and soak up as much winter vitamin D as you can
avoid caffeine, sugar, refined carbs, alcohol
take time for meditation, deep breathing, mindful positive affirmations
incorporate more walking and exercise/classes into your week
be the best that you can be.
They all sound good to me and goals to work towards and easy to achieve.
To help, you might find it easy to keep a journal or diary and write down your goals, note down how you feel about achieving your goals and tick off your achievements – give yourself a gold star/smiley face/pat on the back.

Even tiny increments in achieving your goals might not seem much at the time but they do all add up.

Have a think about doing a weekly/monthly goal setting journal or diary. Don’t wait till 1 January although, traditionally, that’s when everyone does think about detoxing, moving from bad habits to healthy, good ones, exercising more.
It’s never too early to make improvements.

Fitness isn’t about being better than anyone else – it’s about being better than you used to be.

Keep focussed and do more Fitness Pilates and/or Fitness Yoga.
