Back Pain rest v exercise Article
“Why going to bed can be BAD for back pain sufferers and they should start exercising instead”
*Bed rest can delay you getting treatment and reduce mobility, say experts
*A study of 1,000 people found 35% thought bed rest was the remedy
*Research shows that physiotherapy and exercise are better than bed rest
“More than a third of people with back and joint pain take to their beds. But it may be the worst thing you can do”…..

Recipe – protein, banana, yoghurt + peanut butter cake/loaf
I saw this recipe the other day and had to try it out. I adapted it slightly but it was so easy to make and tastes lovely. I put all the ingredients in a food processor and poured the mixture into a loaf tin and cooked for 40 minutes.
It’s gluten free but packed with protein and has some carbs from the banana too. Give it a try and tell me what you think..

Blend: 350g Greek yoghurt, 2 bananas (300g), 100g whey/rice/hemp or other protein powder, 3 eggs, 50g peanut butter (not the one with sugar). Preheat oven 180. Bake in silicone 20cm cake tin or I used an ordinary medium sized loaf tin. Yum, I’ll make it again – maybe even for the Coffee Morning!

So true
(I was going to put this under the ‘something to think about’ heading but changed my mind…. you’ll see why…) Never think too much about a dilemma. Answers come to a relaxed mind. Time allows things to fall into place. A calm attitude yields the best results.

Something to think about
Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.

Getting knocked down in life is a given. Getting up and moving forward is a choice (Zig Zaglar)

Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to let another person or event control your emotions. The only thing we have control over in life is our attitude.

Stop saying “I can’t”. You can. You just choose not to.

Affirmation to repeat: “I can and I will”.

Brilliant Pilates class last night (Thurs 19 Sept). It’s such a cliche but the human body is an amazing thing, 10 months ago I could hardly walk and now I’m back doing substantial workouts! I’m so lucky that I can and I will never take my fitness for grated.
