Note that I’m on holiday w/c Mon 25 Aug so no classes that week (except **)
but we return for our Autumn term from Tue 2 Sept onwards.

Summer Fitness Lunch
I’m wondering if you’d still like to go for our summer fitness lunch and when and where.
I’d asked the class on Friday and thought that we could go either this Friday 15, or Monday 18 or Fri 22 August. I’m happy to go any of these dates (although would prefer 15 or 18th) as long as the majority are happy with these dates too. How about Café Andaluz, George Street – the Spanish tapas restaurant. I was there recently and they have great food and wine, great service too. If the majority would prefer to go the last week in August, I’m happy to book it up for you.
It would be helpful if you could email me if you’d like to go, when would be best for you. Sometimes, it’s easier to just opt for a date and hope that it’s ok for most people.
There’s always going to be a date or a day in the week that doesn’t suit. Of course, with the Fringe/Festival on, it’ll be busy anywhere.

Something to think about
Even though we do the ‘Tree Pose’ in our Friday Yoga Stretch class, here’s some advice from a tree –
Stand tall and proud. Sink your roots into the earth. Be content with your natural beauty. Go out on a limb. Drink plenty of water. Remember your roots. Enjoy the view.

Be strong when you are weak. Brave when you are scared and humble when you are victorious.

Eat Clean, Train Mean, Get Lean.

2) Turmeric Smoothie Recipe: I made this and it’s really delicious (makes 2 glasses)

Turmeric Smoothie - delicious

Ingredients:
1 cup hemp or coconut milk (although I used 1 cup of almond milk), ½ cup frozen pineapple or mango chunks,
1 fresh banana, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, ½ teaspoon turmeric (can be increased to 1 tsp) ½ teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ginger, 1 teaspoon chia seeds, 1 teaspoon maca (optional)
Add all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. Try to drink this smoothie in the morning before you have anything to eat. It’s a solid way to start your day and pack your body full of antioxidants.
The active compound curcumin in turmeric is known to have a wide range of medicinal benefits including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumour, antibacterial, and antiviral activities

Cockburn Family Fitness
Nicola’s teaches a 30 minute fat burning Metafit class then 15 min Ab Blast class in Dreghorn Loan Hall on a Thursday 6.30pm (£5 for both) which I go to before I teach my 7.30 Pilates class She also teaches a Metafit class on a Saturday 9.15am (only £3) – meet at Peter’s Yard, Meadows. Nicola’s an amazing teacher and motivator. You’ll love her class too – it definitely improves metabolism.

** Just thinking: the week that I’m on holiday (w/c 25 Aug), go to Nic’s Metafit class on Thurs 28 Aug at 6.30pm (and Sat 30/8 at 9.15). You can contact her through her website/just turn up.
That way, you won’t miss your workouts that week – yeahhh
