Did you know?
I’m on my way back today from a week in sunny Barcelona – had a great time doing all the touristy things and visiting all the Gaudi architecture, the beach, having lovely leisurely lunches, tapas etc.
Anyway, now that I’m on my way back (probably as you read this), I’m also looking forward to getting back to our new September classes this week and to welcoming you and encouraging you to get fit/stay fit, stick with exercise, good nutrition and stick with Complementary Fitness classes too.

that many studies show the benefits to the brain of good heart health which includes cardio fitness activities such as running, swimming, biking or fitness classes.
that working out with an exercise buddy/friend can help you both to commit to exercise, you’ll encourage each other to come along and work out together and have more fun and a sense of achievement. So please encourage all your friends, colleagues, neighbours etc to join our classes – the more the merrier/fitter/stronger.
Something to think about
What are your fitness goals for September? Sign up for and attend as many of our 9.30am and 7.30pm classes that you can. Your fitness, health and wellbeing goals won’t happen over night but give it time.
Take it one day at a time and remember not to be too hard on yourself if you miss a workout or session – just do your best to stay focussed and join in the next one.
Remember that you have to balance training with rest and recovery too.
Stay motivated and committed to moving forward and being the best and as positive as you can be on that particular day.
I can’t wait to mix up our exercise workouts and sessions and perform some variations of the Plank along with squats and lunges (in all different directions), sit ups, tricep and back extensions, arm strengthening exercises, rotations and ….well everything to get us fit, toned, supple and strong. What about you? Are you up for the challenge? I hope so. Please let me know what your goals are for this month and keep me updated, thanks.
It’s great to keep our body (and mind) guessing by mixing up our sessions and workouts that our body and weight doesn’t plateau. We can increase the number of reps and duration of exercise and difficulty too. It all takes time. If you use hand held weights and/or a resistance band in our Wednesday body conditioning class, keep using them. You might want to (?) increase the weights slightly – you could bring 2 sets and alternate between them to improve your weight/resistance training and muscle building – just a thought, no pressure though.
I’d encourage you to book your place in the new September 6 week blocks of Fitness Pilates classes on a Tuesday in Craiglockhart Church Hall and/or Thursday in Dreghorn Loan Church Hall, Colinton – both classes at 7.30pm. You can email me to reserve your place. If you pay for the whole block on week 1, that guarantees your place.
I’m sure that there will still be a place for you though if you want to PAYG if you can’t make each week.

There might be a few emails waiting for me on my return but I’ll get back to you and look forward to seeing you this week.
Advance Notice: On Thurs 18 September, due to the Referendum, our 7.30pm class will be in The Dell Room, Church Rooms, Colinton Parish Church (in the village – I’ll remind you nearer the time.
It’s a lovely room that we’ve used before when the Loan Hall’s being used for Elections).
