HEALTH and LIFESTYLE
Interesting/Did you know that…
I’m so lucky to have YOU in my classes and wanted to say a big THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your continued attendance in class and it just wouldn’t be the same without you.
I’m also grateful for ‘new people’ as well as all you lovely regulars – some who’ve been coming to our classes for a few weeks, months or years.
It’s also really lovely to get some great feedback when you email or tell me things like: “I’ve never stuck with a class before but love your classes” and “I really notice a big difference in my fitness now, thanks”. So again, a big thank you to you all for joining us in the first half of the year.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in our summer classes which start back on Tue 18, Wed 19, Thurs 20 & Fri 21 July. Keep exercising, stretching, planking etc till then.
Oh and I’ve just had an email from Dreghorn hall convenor saying that the flooring will be treated during the week of 26, 27 & 28 July (Wed-Fri) and Dell room won’t be available as major works will be carried out on the roof in July. So I’m going to try and make alternative arrangements for our Wed & Fri am classes that week as well as our Thurs 7pm class. I’ll keep you posted on the updates.
I had a lovely birthday and wanted to thank you all for the kind messages and cards.
I’ll be using my new bus pass to head up town when going for a coffee or checking out new health products in Real Foods and other health shops.
I also love going through to Glasgow now and again (loving Great Western Road now that I’ve found V&V café, Roots, Fruits & Flowers and other amazing cafes, deli’s and restaurants) and will use it then too.
I love finding new recipes and made this cake last week for family coming over. It’s a gluten-free and vegan cake and has healthy protein packed quinoa in it as well as healthy fats from the avocados so what’s not to love? Here’s the recipe (and others on Nest and Glow)
Edinburgh is such a great festival city too and there’s lots to do and see. One year, we did ‘the tourist thing’ walked everywhere and visited all the usual tourist places ie the Castle, Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth etc and we loved it.
You can find out what’s going on in Edinburgh at www.edinburgh.org/whats-on and as you know, I’ve already mentioned that the Jazz & Blues Festival is on from 14-23 July and there are Concerts on at the Castle in July too. Enjoy.
I like to add some lemon juice/slices and cucumber to filtered water so it tastes clean and fresh and it helps improve digestion too.
I have read Japanese Art of Decluttering book and have to confess that I haven’t made a conscious start and gone through absolutely everything that I/we own and decided if it ‘sparked joy’ or not ie whether to keep, recycle or get rid of whatever the object is. (Note: must actually get round to this one day but it might take longer than a couple of days!) anyway, I came across this funny online from Womenafter50 and it reminded me of the book and I thought you might like it (ps I didn’t throw out the veg by the way or…) here goes:
“I decided to try the Japanese Art of Decluttering where you hold every object that you own and if it does not ‘spark joy’, you get rid of it …. So far I’ve thrown out all of the vegetables, my bra, the electric bill, the treadmill, the laundry, my gym card, a pair of Spanx, the scales and a mirror” – ha love it & LOL.
I also read and love this from the same site on FB: “I don’t want to brag …. But I can still fit into the same earrings I wore in high school”.
I love this: ‘Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to other people’.
I look forward to seeing you on 18 July onwards.
Or email me: email@example.com (type: ‘Pilates/Yoga or Fitness’ in the email subject heading thanks).
