Intermittant Fasting (IF) has been in the news, media and TV for a while now and there’s some good evidence that IF can help burn more fat, reduce inflammation, improve insulin resistance and has been shown to be beneficial for metabolism. Find out more here:

I’ve also mentioned before but there are lots of healthy recipes at
https://www.avogel.co.uk/food/recipes/

talking of healthy recipes, I made (again.. and I’ve mentioned this before but..) on Thursday mid-afternoon, I really fancied an avocado chocolate mousse. I’d had an early breakfast and lunch and this was a sort of afternoon snack/filler before the 7pm class. I knew that I wouldn’t have anything when I got home after the class so thought… why not. So, I blitzed a small whole avocado, a small banana, 1 tsp cacao powder, a couple of deseeded Medjool dates and some almond milk to loosen the mixture into a mousse consistency. When it was blitzed in the food processor, I spooned it out into a nice glass dish and topped it with berries (a few blueberries & cherries) and topped with a few shelled hemp seeds. It was absolutely delicious, ‘just what I needed’ and was still full of protein, healthy fats, carbs as well as antioxidants – who knew? Yum. If we listen to our body, it tells us just what we need.

I really hope that you’ll join us for as many classes in July and August that you can.
I know it’ll soon be the school holidays and it may not be easy to come coz of child care or coz you’re going on holiday yourself but I’d really love it and look forward to working out with you over the summer.

(not!!) another reminder that:
• classes finish up on Thursday 28 June (7pm Fitness Pilates/Yoga class still on)
• no Fitness Yoga class on Fri 29 June
• classes also off 3, 4, 5 & 6 July (I’m having a week’s break)
• classes start back on Tue 10 July 7.30pm
• all classes in Craiglockhart Church Hall on Tue, 10, Wed 11, Thurs 12 & Fri 13 July because of maintenance work in the Loan Hall just that week.

Oh advance notice but there’s also another 1 week that Dreghorn Loan Hall isn’t available due to maintenance work and I’ve decided not to have classes that week at all. That week affects (no) classes on Tue 31 July, Wed 1, Thurs 2 and Fri 3 August. I’ll remind you later on about this ‘other week’ but put it in your diary.

Let me know how you’re getting on with your summer and overall fitness and our workouts – thanks.

I look forward to seeing you and working out with you this week so that we can continue to improve on our fitness levels, strength, posture balance and flexibility together.
