HEALTH and LIFESTYLE

Did you know that…
Last Wednesday I decided to change our 9.30am class to Circuits and then thought, let’s add in some Combat moves so we learnt some jabs, hooks, uppercuts and chops. We skipped (imaginary ropes), moved side-side or forward and back. Easier options were shown and given ie no need to skip or jog, just walk/march in place or step touch.
As in all our classes, there are always options to make the same exercise easier and more manageable or harder ie ‘go for it’. At the end of the class, everyone had worked hard, said they enjoyed it, some saying they ‘loved it’ (woo hoo, me too) and that the music was good too. This Wednesday’s class will also be a Combat Training Workout (at your own pace) and all you need to bring is water and possibly a towel (like all the boxers and martial arts people use in training).

Here’s a comment from someone in last Wednesday’s Combat Circuit Workout:
“FABULOUS class today. All your classes are good but today’s was special. I hope that the others enjoyed it as much as I did” thank you Diana

Our classes finish up this Friday so make sure you work out with us this week. No classes next week.
Our Autumn classes start on Tuesday 1 Sept right up to mid December. It would be great if you book your place in the Tuesday &/or Thursday 7.30pm Fitness Pilates classes and if you can make each week, pay for the block/s to ensure your place and aim to achieve your fitness goals.
You can also pay as you go as we do in our morning classes.

Our brand new 6.35pm CORE COMBAT class starts on Thursday 3 September in Dreghorn Loan Hall.
We’ll be working from and strengthening our core in this workout. You’ll learn how to jab, do upper cuts, hooks as we shift our weight side-side or forward + back. We’ll shuffle to the side then add in more punches ie those jabs etc. We’ll learn about the forward and back kicks too. In the first few classes, we’ll learn about technique, how to punch and protect our face and always work from our core to stay strong. I’m soooo excited and looking forward to it. Music always helps too and you can work off any stress and frustration in this class, enjoy learning new moves, keeping yourself fit and strong. This 45 min workout also includes more abs work at the end of the combat section. The class will be £5 pay-as-you-go.
Special offer: If you’d like to stay for our 7.30pm Fitness Pilates class too (you can pre-book your place for both), you’ll get both classes for £8! Bargain. Another benefit is that you’ll see big changes in your fitness, strength, core, balance and flexibility.

Please let me know if you’d like a space in either or both classes and I’ll add you to the class lists, thanks.

Something to think about:
To be labelled ‘organic’, at least 95% of ingredients must come from organically produced plants/animals.
More info at: http://www.soilassociation.org/whatisorganic and you can also click on the ‘Get Involved’ tab which has lots of info on there too. Organic food is said to be better for health and the environment and is tasty and nutritious. It contains fewer chemicals, is closer to nature and kinder to animals too. September is a good time to switch.

Lots of studies have shown the benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, oily fish, beans, pulses and grains with just a small amount of red meat, dairy, very little sugar and salt makes a difference to your health.
