Did you know that

This is the penultimate week of pre-Christmas classes and I hope that you’ll join us in as many classes as you can. We finish up next Friday 15 Dec so all classes on till then.
We start back on Tue 9 Jan so put the date in your phone/diary etc.

Reminder re our ‘Pilates by Candlelight’ classes this week on Tue 5, Thurs 7 and next week on Tue 12 & Thurs 14 December – so bring a tea light/candle, your mat, water and a cozy sweatshirt or jacket and at the end of the class, we’ll put the lights off, light our candles and stretch to some lovely relaxing music.

Reminder also to join us for tea/coffee and cake on Friday 15 Dec after the class when we’ll head down to The Swing (in Colinton Parish Church, Dell Road). Even if you can’t come to the class that morning, you can still join us for coffee in The Swing about 10.45 am on 15th.

Local festive events:
Bruntsfield are having their Christmas Night on 6 Dec with late night shopping from 5.30pm, festive food, music etc. It’s usually a great night to wander round local shops browsing, having a mulled wine, mince pie and buying any Christmas presents.

The Christmas Vintage Fair is on in the Assembly Rooms on 10 Dec and Edinburgh’s Old Town Christmas hosting FREE Christmas Festival Weekends in the Grassmarket on Saturday 9 and 16 December!
Join in the fun with Santa, his elves and Rudolf, browse the Christmas market, enjoy carol singing, live music, and street performances. Weekend events take place from: 12 – 4 pm (Market from 10- 5 pm).

Just 20 minutes of meditation a day can help keep your mind sharp into old age and eating a balanced diet is one of the most important ingredients (ha, like it!) for a long and healthy life.

Did you know that stress can increase your blood pressure which can increase your risk of stroke, heart disease and heart attack so reducing your stress by focussing on your breathing, relaxing in a warm bath, exercising and reading a book and meditation can really help.

Regular exercise is key for a healthy lifestyle and great for adding years to your life so stick with it.

We all know that we should avoid excess alcohol but drinking a glass of red wine now and then can provide all sorts of health benefits.
