Did you know that
Seaweeds carry all the essential sugars called polysaccharides which have really important anti-viral compounds and in particular: anti-fungal and anti-microbial compounds. They’re also high in fibre.
You’ll be having some seaweed in your diet if you have sushi rolls which are wrapped in nori sheets but you can also experiment with wakame, dulse and other sea vegetables (which you can buy in Real Foods and other health food shops). Seaweeds are powerful and beneficial for our health as they contain lots of minerals and trace elements – give them a try. I occasionally use them then kind of forget about them for ages then read about them again and think ‘oh I should add them in to my diet again’. You can add them in to soup, stews and salads.

The fat in avocado, nuts and seeds helps us to absorb minerals like calcium, iron, manganese and zinc.

On Saturday, we went to Canteen Street Food Market which was at Archerfield, East Lothian and as you know, it was such a gorgeous day for it, couldn’t have been better. Lots of families, food stalls and a couple of drinks (fizz and gin) stalls too. They’re planning more events like this on the last Saturday of the month and I’d recommend it.

Medical science is telling us that we need to eat more fibre so let’s get more whole plant foods in our diets so that we get enough fibre in.

Child’s Pose in yoga can help relieve build up tension in your body and mind and anxiety. You can start in a kneeling position and then sit back onto your heels (with knees almost together or wider apart) and reach your arms forward and resting your forehead on a yoga mat. Hold the pose for a couple of minutes and relax and ease yourself into the stretch.

Did you remember to put your clocks etc forward an hour last night? British Summer Time has now begun – yesssss! and I hope that all you mums had a lovely day too.

One Day or Day One – you decide!

‘You are what you eat’ – Simply adding in organic, raw, some fruits, plenty of different coloured vegetables, herbs, drinking enough water (as well as exercise), can have a shift in our metabolism too and help us transform from the inside out. Diet and exercise are great ways to take control of our health.
