Did you know that…
According to Dietary Guidelines, the healthiest way forward is to eat an overall healthy diet containing plenty of vegetables, with healthy fats from foods such as fish, nuts and seeds, some cheese and yoghurt and wholegrains rather than refined cereals.

Last week, I asked for dates to consider for our Festive Fitness Lunch and of those who got back to me, Monday 7 December was the most popular date. Some said that they had other plans for the following Monday and that the Friday was no good for them. I welcomed suggestions of where to go and Anna suggested Howie’s, Waterloo Place (we’ve been before) and I went in yesterday to make a provisional booking for us for 7 Dec. I spoke to the girl on the desk and she said it would be a reduced option menu for £11 for 2 course or £14 for 3 course which I thought would be fine but she called her manager over as only he had to authorise bookings. When he came over, he said that she wasn’t right and that it would be the Festive Menu only which is £25 per head for lunch and he said that they’d need to find out a month in advance what our menu choices were and that the full amount would need to be paid a month before too!!! That would be by the end of this week! So I said no, we didn’t know our exact numbers yet. I think we can look for somewhere else. Indaba was also suggested and it’s a tapas restaurant in Lochrin Place but unfortunately, they’re not open at lunchtimes. So lets have a think of somewhere to go, that’s also reasonable and we can get some menus and get booked up.

Eating protein at each meal reduces the hunger hormones so we are less likely to feel hungry or peckish mid morning.
Back pain – research shows that bed rest for more than 3 days can delay recovery. If you don’t use your back muscles, they become stiff and weak and other muscles take over, throwing the spinal system out of balance. Try to stay active by continuing with daily activities. Yoga, Pilates and swimming help to build core strength and flexibility and keep the body active, all of which aid recovery. According to the Health Store Mag
