HEALTH and LIFESTYLE

Did you know that…
Our Wed, Thurs & Fri classes in July up to & including 24 July are in the Dell Room, Colinton Parish Church Rooms, Dell Road. The Dell Room has a lovely relaxing outlook. Parking is limited so best to walk down to the church or if driving, park in Westgarth Avenue and walk down The Long Steps (next to Colinton Inn) or turn down the hill after The Royal Bank on the corner and walk from there to the church. We’ll be back in Dreghorn Loan Hall from 29 July.

Diary Date/News of a Brand NEW CLASS starting 6.35pm CORE COMBAT from Thursday 3 September in Dreghorn Loan Hall. I hope that you’ll join this fun Core Combat workout then.
The more, the merrier. Let’s workout to great music, work off some steam with jabs, punches, shuffles+ kicks.

Something to think about:
Last week there was a link about UVA protection sun creams (which I hope you read and found interesting) and this week, you can read an article on Patrick Holford’s website about summer skincare.

If you’ve got one, check the expiry date as they only last 10 years.

Using turmeric (anti-inflammatory properties) and black pepper (helps the bio-availabiltiy of turmeric), I made a lovely omelette and salad for lunch at the weekend (with thanks to Kay F for one of her home grown lettuces).
How? I heated up some coconut oil and fried a couple of chopped onions, chopped up home grown lettuce and switched up 6 free range eggs and added ½ tsp turmeric powder, some freshly milled black pepper, ¼ tsp chilli flakes & some milled Himalayan salt. I cooked the omelette in a large-ish pan then finished it off under the grill.
Easy and tasty and wanted to add turmeric too.

Ask yourself if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.
