Complementary Fitness 31 Dec/Jan 2019 News

All of our classes start back next week from Tuesday 8 January and I look forward to seeing you in our classes then.  A list of classes etc is on the Classes page

This week’s FITNESS & LIFESTYLE info, news & updates…

Did you know that?

I hope that you all had a very merry Christmas with friends and family, that you relaxed a bit too throughout of the festive season.

As today’s the last day of 2018 and I wonder if you’ve looked back and celebrated your achievements this year.  Maybe you’ve already made some plans for the coming year, be it holidays or looking forward to spending more time with family and friends, getting outdoors more, exercising more or maybe you’re looking forward to the birth of a child/grandchild – exciting times.

I hope that 2019 will be filled with love, laughter and many opportunities to celebrate and grow.

As a family, 6 of us went off to Club La Santa, Lanzarote from 15-22 December and it was one of the best holidays we’ve ever had – so much so that we’ve booked up again.  The weather was amazing: hot during the day and cool first thing in the morning and in the evenings (although still nicer than at home!).

We all did various activities, sports, classes and most days, I’d say I did at least 2 but usually 3 exercise classes a day.  I also went a run a couple of times in the morning with the run club and also ran round the track a few times.

I took part in classes and sports and some that I’d never done before – TRX training (very hard but fab), ballroom fitness (did it twice and loved it), fitness trampolining (fun), Body Combat (twice + fantastic), a resistance band class, Yoga Flow, Boxing fitness, paddle tennis (hmm I’m not good at that), paddle boarding (great for the core), kayaking and enjoyed being on the sand and at the water’s edge with Layla.

Linford Christie was also at Club La Santa training some British athletes so we went across and chatted to him – he’s such a lovely guy and easy to talk to.

We had an amazing big apartment and ate in the restaurants there.  We also went out to dinner to a fine dining restaurant in La Santa itself (out of the resort/complex) and walked or cycled to another great café in La Santa which served food as well as amazing apple cake and smoothies.

Since we returned however, before and after Christmas, I’ve not done much/any exercise but have enjoyed spending time with family, meals, wine etc so need to get ‘get back on it’ again next week.

Great Quotes:

This made me think….’if you’re not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it.  You’re not going to start using it more by shoving it in a closet somewhere’.

and

‘no matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up’.

I look forward to seeing you and working out with you when we return next week from Tue 8 Jan for more fitness and fun, new music mixes and fitness ideas.

Until then, have a very happy Hogmanay and wishing you every best wish for the new year.  It’s almost here, woo hoo.

Take care

SUSAN
