At Complementary Fitness, we’re having a break this week so no classes but all ‘back to normal’ next week in Dreghorn Loan church hall, Colinton and Craiglockhart church hall and I hope you’ll join me then. It’ll be great to see you, catch up but more importantly, to work out with as many of you as possible then.

As I’ve been mentioning recently, because Dreghorn Loan church hall isn’t available again this Wed 1, Thurs 2 + Fri 3 August coz of more renovations, we’re off on another wee holiday in the sun this week but I’ll be doing lots of walking (booked a ½ day walking tour as well), sightseeing, soaking up the sun and still trying to eat healthily (tons of veggie & vegan restaurants and cafes in Barcelona btw).
I’m sure that you will be keeping yourselves fit too (a bit of lunging, squatting, planking as homework?) and as The Edinburgh Fringe starts on 3 Aug, you might be walking around the town getting to and from shows – enjoy.

I’m going to book and see as many shows as I can (depending on babysitting, classes, show recommendations etc). I/we do have a few in mind though! – ha a good lead/pun/reminder to get booked up for Stephen’s show on 11 Aug.
Shows-wise, I’m not really into comedy (a bit of a hit or miss) but absolutely love Japanese drummers, some music shows (looking forward to The Soul Kings), dance shows and physical theatre & circus. There’s such a lot to see: edfringe.com or pick up a brochure or head into town to the box offices.

Did you know that magnesium plays an important role in a wide variety of biochemical processes in the body including optimizing mitochondrial function and the creation of ATP (the energy molecules of your body), regulation of blood sugar and activation of muscles and nerves.
Magnesium can be lost through stress and lack of sleep, alcohol consumption and eating processed food can be a risk factor for magnesium deficiency too.
Research for yourself and find out why we need sufficient magnesium levels, what roles it plays in the body and how to improve food source levels.
I like drmercola.com for articles and info but I do have an article on my website called
‘6 powerful ways to boost your magnesium levels’ so have a read over that again too at
www.complementaryfitness.co.uk/articles (click on the + sign to read the article and when finished, click the – sign to close it)

So not much in this week’s fitness newsletter but more info and news next week plus
• more fitness
• our classes
• music
• enthusiasm
• sequences
• chat/catch-up
• de-stressing
• breathing
• focussing

I look forward to seeing you and working out with you next week in Dreghorn Loan Hall and Craiglockhart Church Hall so that we can continue to improve on our summer fitness levels, strength, posture balance and flexibility together.
