12 – 18 Oct is National Curry Week. So many different varieties, mild, spicy, hot, fragrant then all the accompaniments, breads, rice etc. I love a good curry (veggie of course)

15 – 21 Oct is National Baking Week – get out your wooden spoon, get your apron on and get creative in the kitchen. Its also National Cholesterol Month in October too. Its all about raising awareness because once inherited high cholesterol is diagnosed, it is fairly easy to treat with a healthy diet, plenty of exercise and medication. However, lifestyle changes – including a healthy diet and more exercise are something that we should all aspire to!

Something to think about:
We all know that exercise and great nutrition are key to keeping healthy and fit but what to eat and do I need to eat before exercise?
Think of your body like the engine of a car that needs fuel before it will go. It wont run on empty and you wont last as long if you don’t have the right fuel. We need a mixture of protein, complex carbs, good fats, fibre as well as vitamins and minerals. You might want to try apple wedges or oatcakes with almond butter, some home made granola with dairy or coconut yoghurt or make a delicious smoothie

Welcome change, just as the leaves change from green to lovely Autumn red and gold shades.
Change is in the air, embrace it.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means its going to launch you into something great. So just focus and keep aiming.

Eat lots of varieties of fruit and veg and support local Farmers Markets. You get to eat the whole fruit which has its own packaging ie an apple or tomato skin rather than having to read the list of ingredients on the packaging of a tub of tomato sauce or an apple pie. Eat healthier, less waste, less packaging, fresh, tasty and organic.
