There are NO CLASSES this week or next as we’re on holiday but I look forward to seeing you in our summer classes – dates below.

Welcome to this week’s Fitness Newsletter which is shorter than usual but nevertheless, I hope that you still find it interesting. I look forward to seeing you from Tue 15 July onwards 🙂

Did you know?
that although I’m on holiday down in Yorkshire this week, I’m looking forward to our 6 weeks of summer classes starting the week of Tue 15 July and hope to see you at as many classes over the summer as possible.

that even though there are no classes this week, you might like to exercise by gardening (if you don’t have a garden or if your’s is perfect, you can always ‘borrow’ mine while I’m away!!!) –

If you read the whole article (link below), you’ll see that there are numerous reasons why gardening is good for you. One is related to the fact that your body needs perpetual motion to function optimally and gardening is one way to stay active at times when you might otherwise be sitting still. Fitness researchers found that when you exercise outdoors, you exercise harder but perceive it as being easier than when exercising indoors which can have significant health benefits and it encourages you to work out harder than you might otherwise. I also came across another article (there are many) from Dr Mercola about the benefits of Olive Oil. Lots of info here about olive oil about the health and beauty benefits and it also includes a recipe for Thyme Chicken Salad. The article also interested me because at the weekend, I made Nigella’s Chocolate Olive Oil Cake which was lovely with rasps and coconut cream yum!
