HEALTH and LIFESTYLE
Did you know that…
we had a lovely Christmas with family, did really well and were so lucky to get lots of lovely presents and spend time together. I’ve really enjoyed being ‘off’ the last couple of weeks, and as always, don’t know where the time has gone!! Steven and I did however go through to Stirling last Tuesday and took part in Nicola’s 30 min Metafit class. We warmed up by running round the track at Stirling Uni, did our Metafit exercises then a warm down with another lap of the track. Oh the DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) a couple of days later though over my pecs with all those wide and narrow press ups!! So I’ll be sympathising with you when we get back to doing press ups and planks again soon!!
I’ve already got new music for our new Fitness Pilates/Yoga and Resistance Training Classes and am looking forward to seeing you when we start back next week.
I also can’t wait to find out about your Christmas and how you got on. Did you go to ‘the Sales’? and if so, did you get any bargains?
Something to think about:
Have a think and let me know what your plans and goals are for 2016. Do you usually make New Year Resolutions?
Do you stick to them? or re-visit them and adapt them once you’ve achieved a milestone or accomplishment?
Our achievements don’t have to be BIG or unachievable – they can be small, subtle changes that all go towards moving forward and feeling more in control. So be realistic with your plans and goals – you might think about writing or typing out your plans and then put some sort of time scales next to them.
After Christmas, all the extra food, drinks etc, we might want to lose some excess weight but even though we (I) might want to lose it all overnight and get back to fitness again (where I don’t feel those DOMS a day or 2 after!!), it all takes time. An hour’s class once or twice a week makes all the difference.
Let’s get moving, get back to being fit again and enjoying the challenges.
Remember that we can adapt our exercise and workouts. We don’t have to go ‘all out’ to begin with, we don’t have start with the harder options, we can ease back into it if necessary and do what we can.
Remember to reserve your place in our Tuesday and/or Thursday Fitness Pilates or Fitness Yoga classes, just email me (details below) and I’d add you to the class list.
Our Wednesday & Friday 9.30am classes are drop in, no need to book. Remember also to bring a yoga mat and water to all classes when they return from 5 January onwards.
