Did you know that…
the professional association and awarding body dedicated to the teachings of Joseph Pilates has stated that “today it is acceptable to apply the principles of Pilates to all forms of movement and exercise and sport and daily life activities as Joseph intended”. One of Pilates principles is stamina and can be seen as the improvement of strength and challenge of the muscles used in exercise, allowing for repetitive quality movements.

I love my NutriBullet and love making nutriblasts/smoothies. They’re nutrient extracted drinks that are designed to feed you with easily absorbable fruits, veg, seeds, nuts and superfoods. They’re really nutrient dense which give our bodies energy to carry out lots of functions.
It’s recommended that you add the basic formula for delicious drinks ie 50% greens, 50% fruit and/or veg,
2T nuts/seeds/superfoods and top up with water/unsweetened tea/coconut water or non-dairy/dairy milk.
I like to use organic ingredients when I can and love adding spinach, berries, some seeds and some of the ‘superfoods’ that I add are: bee pollen (contain B vitamins), goji berries (18 different amino acids incl 8 of the 9 essential amino acids that our bodies don’t manufacture) and maca powder (a great adaptogenic stress-buster and contains vitamins and minerals as well as 8 essential amino acids – they’re the protein building components we need). I also love cacao nibs (chocolate in it’s natural form and contains a great source of magnesium, vital for healthy heart function and for strong bones). Nutriblasts can be great pre or post exercise to fuel you ready for a class or to re-fuel after your hard workout.

After classes on Tue/Thurs evenings or to help me relax, I like to re-fuel and make a smoothie with almond milk, banana, maybe some organic porridge oats, some pumpkin seeds and a pinch of cinnamon too – delicious.

A recent study from Newcastle Uni says that organic milk contains 40% more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which has been linked to weight loss and has higher concentrations of Vit E, iron and some carotenoids so switching to organic versions of milk may improve your health.
