Did you know that…
there are only 4 more sleeps to Christmas day and I’m sure that you’ll be really organised, have bought and wrapped all your presents and that you get a chance to put your feet up and relax a bit before ‘The Big Day’. I hope that you have a very merry Christmas with family and friends and I look forward to seeing you in a couple of week’s time.

oats and barley are rich in beta-glucan, a soluble fibre that helps lower cholesterol levels. It’s easy to get the recommended 3g of beta-glucan a day if you have a large bowl of porridge and 3 oatcakes.

a small pepper contains up to 300mg of Vitamin C. Broccoli, kale and fresh chilli also contain excellent sources of the vitamin so you could easily make yourself a stir fry with these ingredients incl the pepper which may help to ward off the cold virus.

Spirulina is high in protein, iron, potassium and is a good source of calcium, zinc, magnesium, fibre, copper and omega-3. I love adding ½-1 tsp of powdered spirulina to a protein shakes, smoothies or chia puddings in the morning and I feel that it improves my energy levels and immune system. You can buy spirulina in Real Foods/Holland & Barrett.

Remember to reserve your place in our Tuesday and/or Thursday Fitness Pilates or Fitnes Yoga classes, just email me (details below) and I’d add you to the class list. Our Wednesday & Friday 9.30am classes are drop in, no need to book. Remember also to bring a yoga mat and water to all classes when they return from 5 January onwards.
