Fitness Pilates class feedback:
“LOVED LOVED LOVED the class tonight Susan (Tuesday 14/10). The change in music and tempo of the class was just amazing. No matter how long I have come to your classes, you never fail to amaze with the way you continually change and it is the quickest hour of anything I do and enjoy so much” – Gill C. Thank YOU so much Gill for your comment and your continued support.

Just to let you know that as part of the ongoing Halls redecoration (in Craiglockhart Church Hall), they’ll be to painting both the Gents and Ladies Toilets of the Main Hall and therefore they will be out of commission for this purpose on Tuesday 21October but toilet facilities will still be available at the top of the steps beside the stage and also next to the youth worker’s office in the lobby.

Did you know that
The health benefits of Vitamin C: vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid) is an essential nutrient that performs several important bodily functions. For example:
· Helps to protect our cells and keeps them healthy
· Maintains the connective tissue that gives support and structure to our other tissue and organs
· Aids in the healing of wounds
Vitamin C benefits from important antioxidant qualities too – antioxidants help to boost our immune system, which is why so many take vitamin C supplements in an effort to ward off unwelcome colds.
It helps in increasing our body’s absorption of iron, an essential mineral that helps to manufacture the red blood cells that carry oxygen around our body
There’s also a recipe for camu camu cream in the link.

According to a new study in Nutrition Journal, chlorella which is a Japanese algae extract, reduces cholesterol and triglycerides plus it’s a powerful detoxifier, revives genes suppressed by environmental toxins and slows down the ageing process. (you can buy it in tablet or powder form – Real Foods)

Something to think about
Eating a high fat meal after stressful events can slow your metabolism – according to new research from Ohio State University. In fact, women who were stressed, burned 104 fewer calories after eating a fatty meal which experts concluded could lead to an 11lb weight gain each year! (Healthy mag)

High intensity interval training (HIIT) isn’t just for young folk – it’s been proven to improve the health of the elderly. In a new study, 12 pensioners did 1 minute of HIIT twice a week. After 6 weeks, they had lower blood pressure and vastly increased their physical fitness and functional ability. So, who’s up for coming along to Nicola’s classes now then? See you on Thursday Dreghorn Loan Hall 6.30pm.
