Health & Exercise
If you’re looking for a powerful way to boost your overall fitness and get some serious results — fast — from your workout routine, look no further than the squat,” Dr J Mercola says.
Although it is considered a “leg exercise,” the squat actually offers numerous benefits to your entire body.

Here are some of the benefits of doing squats:
Squats are a “functional exercise” that can help you do real-life activities with ease.
They build muscle in your whole body.
Squats help you burn more fat.
They help with greater mobility and balance.
Doing squats may help you avoid injuries.
Squats help you jump higher and run faster.
You can tone your buttocks, abs, and whole body if you do squats

I’ve put the full article on my website but you can also read it at
(I also had some info about front squatting in our Fitness Newsletter of 28 Oct).

Did you know?
that by maintaining a healthy lifestyle (healthy diet, regular exercise, low stress levels), you can actually reverse the effect of ageing on your body according to a study from the University of California. The more positive changes you decide to make ie eating whole foods, exercising and practising stress busting yoga, the greater the youth boosting benefits.

that dodging breakfast means you’re likely to adopt unhealthy habits such as eating foods higher in fat later in the day (according to research in journal Circulation) – eat a healthy breakfast. I make my own protein based sugar-free muesli and also make almond milk too – a great combination. I love porridge topped with blueberries and seeds too. What’s your favourite breakfast combo?

that we’re having Pilates by Candlelight classes on Tue 3 & 10 December and also Thurs 5 and 12 Dec – bring your tea lights and holders and after a 40 minutes of a warm up and work out, we’ll then light our tea lights, put the lights off, stretch, relax and release all the pre Christmas tension.
