Summer Fitness Lunch

Did you know?
that if you’re trying to lose weight, or put some on, try Food Journaling – it’s a great tool to use to asses your current nutritional status. You need a notebook (or paper or use your laptop etc) and note down everything you eat and drink and at what time.
Using scales and measuring food can be quite tedious and impractical so instead, roughly put in the amount ie ‘beef – size: pack of cards’ or ‘vegetables/grains/fruit: ¼ or ½ plate or 2 pieces/portions’.
Keep your food journal up to date for at least a week.
Be conscious and truthful with what you consume. Sometimes we’re not aware that we always eat a couple of biscuits with our mid morning coffee/tea or that have 1 or 2 glasses of wine each night with dinner – it all adds up. Food habits can change dramatically from weekdays to weekends too.
You might undo all your good work Mon – Thurs and then blow it all on a weekend by sleeping late, skipping breakfast then being so famished, that you need something quick and you might grab some junk food just to fill you up.
Adding some protein at breakfast can make all the difference and keep you feeling full till lunchtime. Keeping, updating and looking at your Food Journal/Diary enables you to make necessary nutritional changes to reach your goals.

Something to think about
I’d encourage you to book your place in the new September 6 week blocks of Fitness Pilates classes on a Tuesday in Craiglockhart Church Hall and/or Thursday in Dreghorn Loan Church Hall, Colinton – both classes at 7.30pm.
You can email me to reserve your place (if you email me while I’m on holiday next week, I will get back to you asap).
If you pay for the whole block on week 1, that guarantees your place. I’m sure that there will still be a place for you though if you want to PAYG if you can’t make each week.

Advance Notice: On Thurs 18 September, due to the Referendum, our 7.30pm class will be in The Dell Room, Church Rooms, Colinton Parish Church (in the village – I’ll remind you nearer the time. It’s a lovely room that we’ve used before when the Loan Hall’s being used for Elections).
