Hi, welcome to Complementary Fitness classes
I hope that now the Easter holidays are over, that you’ll come back and join our classes.
Classes have been quieter coz of holidays and colds/viruses etc but I look forward to seeing you again, catching up and working out with you this week/soon.


Did you know that…
if you’re ‘end goal’ is to be fit and have lots of energy to be able to do everything that you want, to be able to complete all the tasks and achieve all that you have in mind, remember that the end result doesn’t happen overnight. Like anything, it takes time but as Dr Martin Luther King Jnr said: “take the first step in faith.
You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step”. Good advice.

in last week’s Fitness Newsletter, I mentioned Elwin Robinson and his article about digestion and hope that you clicked on it and had a read. I decided to make one of Elwin’s green juices and thought I’d give you the recipe here if you’d like to try it out too. It’s called ‘Juice Feast Green Juice’ and I added some of the optional alkaline upgrade ingredients too – you don’t have to, just make the basic recipe in your juicer which is:
¼ – ½ red chilli, scrape out the juice & seeds of 2 passion fruit, 1” fresh ginger, a large handful of rocket,
a head of red/green lettuce, a bunch of fresh coriander, 1 large or 2 small apples cored and pips removed,
1 courgette, 1 cucumber, 3 celery stalks & leaves and 1 lemon, skin removed and cut into ¼s.
After making juice, you could add 2 or 3 tsps of supergreen veg powder (Elwin’s site is and it tells you what’s in it or you can buy from Holland & Barrett), ¼ tsp Celtic sea or Himalayan salt (if you have low-ish blood pressure like me), a tsp or 1T hemp seed oil and stir in and drink.
It makes about 2 pints and you can drink it throughout the day. Enjoy.

oats are high in minerals eg magnesium, zinc and selenium as well as certain antioxidants that fight free radicals and they contain fibre which can lower your risk of heart disease and certain cancers.
I love making porridge using organic oats and almond milk and include some ground cinnamon or ground nutmeg and top with some fresh berries and bee pollen to garnish. Porridge is so warming and satisfying and keeps you full for a while.
