Welcome to this week’s newsletter & updates:

All classes are ON this week as normal.

However, just to let you know that there’s no class next Thursday 29 September because we’ll be at a family members funeral that day, apologies.  If you can come to another class that week instead, it’d be great to see you, thanks.

I got a new SumUp card reader and all ok now.  I must keep it in a box and try not to drop this one!!  You can still pay cash, by bank transfer, use my new card reader or …..

I’ve also downloaded my own QR code for any of my classes.

If you’d like to pay using your phone (rather than card machine etc), then in advance, download the SumUp Pay – for consumers app.  This is the one:

Then, in class click on camera and point your camera at the QR code (that I have on my phone).  When you click the recognised link on the top of the screen & click on it, it’d come up with ‘Complementary Fitness’ class £6 (so you know who you’re paying and amount) and press Complete, et voila!

You’d also be able to pay using the QR code on your smart watch too if you have it set up.

Give it a try too.

Woo hoo technology.

Resisting change > adapting > moving forward

I passed my driving test a very long time ago, 40+ years ago and in all that time, I’ve only driven cars with manual gear boxes.

I’ve always resisted and never wanted (aka scared) to drive an automatic car.  In fact, when ever someone talked about it, I said ‘no way’.

I felt I’d be ‘out of control’ but …. In the last week, things have changed.

We’ve changed our ‘main car’ to an automatic one, mainly coz a lot of new or newish cars seem to be automatic and I/we thought that in the future, many more would be.

If that were the case, I thought I’d be better to get used to driving an automatic car now rather than in say 3, 4 or 5 years time when I’d be even more resistant.

Well, I had a test drive with the best and most patient guy (in case you’re wondering – it was one of the guys from the garage, not Norman!).

After we’d both driven it and sold our Honda the previous day, we ‘went for it’.  It’s a nearly 2 year old Volvo and so far, I’m loving it and don’t know why I was so resistant up until this point.

Things change, we progress, take the plunge and move out of our comfort zones, we move forward (and even reverse automatically too, ha).

Who’d have thought?  Not me but there you go.

Have you done anything big or small lately?  Something that you once thought you’d never do or achieve.  Have you formulated a plan in your head or on paper and thought, I’m going to go for it, I’m going to go for that promotion or even taken the plunge and joined a new class or gym for the first time?  If so, let me know and well done.

Thursday class info: want to let you know that a class has just started before our one on a Thursday.  They finish at 6.50pm so we won’t get in before that but will start at our usual time of 7pm.

Sharing with you a tweet from @drmarkhyman: ‘one of the best ways to ensure a good sleep at night is to exercise during the day.  Exercise is truly a “wonder drug” for the any health benefits it offers including boosting melatonin production for a better night’s sleep’.

In another tweet, he asks: ‘did you know that exercise boosts nitric oxide, a molecule that enhances blood flow and promotes neuroplasticity by producing brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which is essentially miracle grow for your brain’?

So, keep moving, keep our bodies, minds, brain cells and all their functions working the best they can.

I’ve maybe mentioned that I love Body Me organic products ie protein powder & superfood powders to add into smoothies.
