Did you know that…
It’s the 2nd week of the Easter school holidays again, just to let you know that ALL our CLASSES are ON and I hope that you’ll join us and right up till the end of June. We then have classes over the summer too fyi.

Oh one update though is that on Thurs 4 June, Dreghorn Loan Hall is being used for voting so we’ll be using the Dell Room, Colinton Parish Church, Dell Road instead that night and as the choir will have to move out to accommodate us, we’ll just have one class that night at 7.30pm (Fitness Pilates only that night).

Eating a nutritious breakfast will fire up your metabolism and keep you feeling full till lunchtime.
Including protein also helps you feel fuller for longer and helps to avoid between meal snacking.

Edinburgh International Science Festival is on till 16 April and you can find out details of what’s on at: – enjoy and have fun.

At the weekend there, we had a ‘foodie festival weekend’ and for the first time, went to Leith Market which is open every Saturday 10-5pm down in Dock Place. It was a lovely day as you know and there were quite a few food stalls, people sitting around drinking coffee and eating food and music too. It was great as we found about some new places that cater for veggies and vegans in Edinburgh and even a place that does vegan afternoon teas!
Can’t wait to try that out.

On Sunday morning, I found out about the Scottish Vegan Festival which was on at the Corn Exchange so we popped in to that and there were lots of stalls, talks and demos.
Just to let you know that there are plans are to have another one on Sat 22 Oct (check out their Facebook page for details)

We sometimes like to go to Stockbridge Market in Saunders St on a Sunday too which we’ve been to loads of times before. It started in 2011 and now has around 40 different traders so lots of variety, great food, atmosphere and great for walking around and supporting local business. Apart from the food stalls, I also love the natural skincare and soaps there too. You can find out about Leith, Stockbridge, Grassmarket and Fountainbridge markets at:

Something to think about:
In a couple of our Fitness Pilates classes last week, we did some V sit ups which are really challenging for the core muscles (as well as balance too!). As in all the classes and exercises, there were easier options to try too. Looking forward to more challenges this week!

Great comments about our Kettlebell (or weights) class on Wednesday last week:
“I didn’t think I was going to like the kettlebell class but I really did, great, thanks” and
“worked really hard with great exercises and great class”. Strength training really ramps up our metabolism, fitness levels, overall strength and bone and muscle strength too.

I recently bought a new really great book called Green Kitchen Smoothies and last week, made a couple of Blueberry Power post-strength training smoothies. If you’ve got a nutribullet or any blender and would liker the recipe which included some fruits, nut butter, seeds, protein powder, spices and non dairy milk, then let me know. It was delicious and a lovely colour too.

Sprinkling ground cinnamon over your food helps to balance blood sugar levels – I like to use cinnamon in smoothies and shakes.

I wish you all a very happy relaxed Easter weekend – have fun and I hope the weather’s great again so we can enjoy being outdoors, fresh air and sunshine.

Reminder to bring water and your mat to classes as always. Stay hydrated.
