Parking for Dreghorn Loan Hall classes in November
You’ll probably know that there are “no parking” notices on Dreghorn Loan, Redford Drive and Thorburn Road in November. Don’t let this put you off from coming to our Wed morning, Thursday evening and Friday morning classes though. I found it easy to park in Laverockdale Crescent which is on the bend/turn right at the top of Dreghorn Loan and walk down from there. You might? get a space at the top of Dreghorn Loan but it may be limited because the No 10 bus is having to come down Dreghorn Loan and turn left towards Woodhall Rd.
So if you live nearby and can walk to and from the classes, great, it will save all the hassle.
If you drive there, maybe leave 5 mins earlier, park in Laverockdale Cres or Westgarth Avenue and walk round from there.
This is week 2 or 4 of “no parking” notices but please keep checking for any notices before parking, thanks.

Did you know that…
I’ve provisionally booked Bisque Brasserie, Bruntsfield Hotel for our festive lunch on Monday 7 December at 1 o’clock. I’ve printed out the lunch menu which is £19.50 for 3 courses incl coffee and fudge.

Veggies and vegans always have risotto as an/the only option so I’ve asked them if they can offer an alternative and they’ve added squash & veg caponata for us as a main.
If you’ve added your name to our lunch list, please let me know if the venue and menu are still ok for you.
We need to let them know our menu course choices and pay the full amount for everyone by the end of November so please let me know soon what your choices are and pay your £19.50 to me soon or at the latest, by Fri 27 Nov, thanks. I will make out a sheet and you can either write your menu choices on that in class or better still, email me at and put “Christmas Menu” in the heading.
Any wine or drinks can be paid for on the day.
The No 16 bus goes from Colinton to Bruntsfield but other buses too.

Something to think about:
Someone requested Fitness Salsa so I’m thinking of doing 4 weeks pre Christmas Fitness Salsa on Wednesdays from 18 until 9 Dec. So this Wednesday is still Resistance Band, Core and Combat Training then from next Wed, be ready to shake and wiggle your shoulders and hips, dance to the Latin beat and enjoy yourself.
Friday mornings are still Fitness Yoga.

Oh by the way, we’ll still be having our usual Pilates by Candlelight classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 weeks in December so that’s Tue 1 + 8 and Thursday 3 and 10 December. Put the dates in your diary/phone and bring your tea lights and holders then. We could also have Fitness Yoga by Candlelight on 3 + 10 December too.
It’s really nice to have pre-Christmas evening candlelight classes where we have more time to relax, stretch and enjoy the glow of the candles. We light our candles about 20 minutes before the end of the classes, put the lights off, stretch, unwind, relax, chill out and breathe away all the pre festive busyness, hype and stress.
You might also want to bring a jumper, lightweight cover or shawl to keep yourself snug and cozy too.
Ah, I’m looking forward to it already.
