I can’t wait to catch up and work out with you this week in our new Fitness Pilates, Fitness Yoga & resistance/weights classes in Craiglockhart & Colinton, Edinburgh and look forward to helping you improve your fitness, strength, stamina, core, posture and flexibility
All class details and times are on the Classes page of my website.

Did you know that

I can’t wait to get back to fitness, to classes, to seeing you and catching up with you this week.
I’ve loved having some time off and it’s been great seeing family and friends over the last 3 weeks.
We’ve loved seeing our wee granddaughter too and enjoyed her first Christmas, but I’m now ready to ‘get back to normal’ again and work on my fitness levels again. I’m sure that my muscles will be sore on Wednesday and Thursday after our first few classes but ‘that’s normal’ too after being away from it for a few weeks.
Just to let you know that if you feel the same ie aching leg and abdominal muscles a day or 2 after your class, the ache will soon ease off again and we’ll rebuild and regain the strength and fitness that we had.
If I think that my muscles are going to be sore, I’ll have a nice warm bath with some magnesium flakes/Epsom salts in it and this always helps to ease muscles and relax them.

We get some really great comments about our classes and thought I’d share one with you here:
“Thank you also for years of wonderful classes. I really still love your classes after all the years I have been coming and miss them when they are off as I feel creeks that I don’t feel when I attend – generally creek/twinge free and that’s all due to your expertise in Pilates”. – thanks very much M Watt, Tue Pilates

Exercise is great for supporting physical and mental health. When we exercise, endorphins (feel good chemicals) are released which can help to improve our mood and wellbeing. It can help to keep our weight in check, lower blood pressure, improve bone and muscle strength, improve flexibility, ease aches and pains and release anxiety to name a few benefits.

At the beginning of a new year, we often make resolutions to eat healthier, lose some weight, make a plan to exercise more, reduce alcohol consumption, walk more, relax more etc but rather than going all-out, we can consider taking small steps to nourish and cleanse our bodies. We can begin by eating plenty of fruit and veg, boosting our antioxidant and fibre intake, reducing sugar, caffeine and processed foods.
Eating more organic food, drinking water with fresh lemon juice, green tea and making nutritious home made soups and stews are a great and easy way to start and also improve our health.

10 Reasons To Workout:

3. To improve mental alertness
4. To be happier
5. To eat healthier
6. To be more motivated to continue to work out
7. To burn more calories for the rest of the day
8. To increase the amount of energy

Pilates increases your core strength, stability and joint mobility. It improves your posture, helps to gain relief from aches and pains. Pilates exercises help prevent injuries by addressing muscular imbalances and enhances daily and sports performance (ie golf, skiing etc)
