Did you know that…
As you’ll see above, this Thursday 8 May is the Election and our combined class we’ll be in The Dell Room, Colinton Parish Church at 7.30pm. It’s a Fitness Pilates/Fitness Yoga combo class (PiYo class) with a warm up, stretches, Pilates and fitness exercises and yoga stretching.
I’ve asked (and will make sure) that all the windows will be open for us and I hope that you’ll come and join us on Thursday at 7.30pm
then from Thursday 15 June onwards, there will still just be one combined class and we’ll be back in Dreghorn Loan Hall.
This class will now always be at 7pm (till 8pm).
We’ll incorporate fitness, strength, core, breathing, relaxation, toning, posture, flexibility and fun.

I’ve booked our Summer Fitness Lunch for Monday 19 June at 12.30pm (2 weeks today!) in Café Andaluz, George Street. I’ve been to this lovely tapas restaurant loads of times before (and we’ve been as a group too) and always enjoyed the food, company, service and atmosphere. If you’d like to join us, please get in touch and let me know and I’ll add you to the lunch list. I hope that you can make it. I’m looking forward to it already!
Dates: our pre-summer classes finish on Tue 27 June and we start back again from Tuesday 18 July onwards.
Wondering where you’re off on your holidays this year? Have you been yet and if so, where and what was it like? When are you going and do you ‘have to’ take the school holidays?
Although I’m taking some time off at the end of June, we’re not going away till August. We’ve had a couple of weekends-away so far and in August, we’re going for a 3 night weekend to Dubrovnik, Croatia and really looking forward to that. We’ve heard it’s lovely and the reviews of the city and hotel are amazing.

Studies show that the addition of 15-25g of protein to a post-workout meal or snack can boost glycogen storage, reduce muscle soreness and promote muscle repair. If you’re exercising more, you probably need to up your protein intake a little from sedentary levels. In the UK, sedentary adults are advised to eat 0.75k protein for each kg of bodyweight based on the Reference Nutrient Intake. If you weight 70k (11 stone), you should eat 55g if you’re a man and 45g protein daily if you’re a woman. That’s about 2 palm-sized portions of meat, fish, tofu, nuts or pulses.
