I want to thank you all again for all your kindness, support, hugs, cards, messages, flowers etc and especially last week for turning up and ‘being there for me’, it’s really meant so much and helped, thank you.

I read in this month’s Healthy mag that ‘the new trend’ is low intensity steady state (LISS). We’ve all heard of HIIT (high intensity interval training) but low intensity steady state is having ‘a moment’ – we’ve been having a moment for ages and it shows! Anyway, as you can guess, it’s all about exercising at a steady pace for 40-60 minutes and you should be quite breathless (obvs keep breathing but breathless where you might find it hard to have a conversation). Researchers have pitted LISS against HIIT and people get the same weight loss benefits.
So onwards and upwards, keep going, keep working out with us Team Complementary Fitness.

Did you know that
Squats where you have your hands clasped or holding a weight in front of your chest work your glutes (buttock muscles), quads (large muscles in the front of your upper thigh), hamstrings (muscles at the back of your upper leg), abdominal muscles and calves. When squatting and coming back up to our starting standing position, will help increase mobility and strength and tone your glutes and abs. Squats are always ‘on the menu’ in our classes.
