Interesting/Did you know that…
I’m wondering how you’re getting on in our classes?
Do you feel a difference in your fitness, strength, flexibility? or notice a reduction in stress when exercising? Any other benefits? Please let me know either by email or let me know when I see you, thanks.
Some of you have told me that now that you’ve returned to your regular Fitness Pilates or Yoga class (after the holidays/a break), that your back has improved and that you have less back ache and tension again.
I’m soooo pleased that you’ve noticed a difference. Onwards and upwards and here’s to more strength, flexibility, fun and reduced pain and stress.
I ‘like’ a few Facebook pages but if you’re not on FB, you might still be interested in one of the ‘health’ websites that I like which is naturalhealthyteam.com. There are a lot of articles, hints and tips on health, natural remedies etc. I also really like educateinspirechange.org for their interesting articles.
You’ll have heard of ‘clean eating’ (eating natural, unprocessed foods) and I’m glad to hear that ‘clean beauty’ (natural beauty products without chemicals etc) is trendy now too. I love products that are free from chemicals and have been using products from Jason, Green People etc for years now.
Did you know that you can remove your eye make up with coconut oil and it’s also good for your skin and hair too and doesn’t ‘cost the earth’!!
If you’re looking for natural and chemical free make up and beauty products, I’d recommend going into Jan de Vries, Queensferry St and have a look and ask advice (I just love that shop and they’re all so friendly and helpful in there).
Jennifer (Friday Yoga class) mentioned to me that she’s involved in an event tonight: Mon 21 Aug by Songbirds (Edinburgh’s newest ladies choir) and it’s ‘Songs for a summer’s evening’ and is on in Morningside Parish Church, Braid Rd at 7.30pm. If you’d like to go, you can buy a ticket for £10 on the door.

I used to talk about the benefits of manuka honey all the time and still use/eat it but haven’t mentioned it in newsletters for ages and came across an article reminding me how great it is for sore throats, fighting infections etc and I thought I’d pass them on to you or remind you:
According to a study published in a Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases journal, manuka honey could be of great importance when many drugs and antibiotics are resistant against superbugs and bacteria. It went on to say that the strong properties of manuka honey destroy every pathogen and bacteria and is great for treating cuts, insect bites and infections on the skin when applied topically. I like to buy really good manuka honey, the ones with the highest number ie 15 or 20+ in H&B when it’s on offer for ‘buy one, get one for a penny’.
Did you know that an estimated 5000 different additives are allowed to be added to our ‘food’. So if we eat fresh, seasonal, whole, unprocessed, unwaxed, organic, unprocessed, seems a great plan to me and we won’t be getting any of these unwanted nasties.
