Did you know that
Physical inactivity is a major problem in the UK with approx. 20 million adults not meeting the activity levels needed for good health. Inactivity is thought to cost the UK healthcare system around £1.2 billion a year and a British Heart Foundation survey suggests that 60% of adults are unaware of the government’s physical activity guidelines which are 150 minutes a week for 19-64 year olds. The recommendations say adults should aim to be active daily and over a week, activity should add up to at least 150 minutes (2½ hours) of moderate intensity activity in bouts of 10 minutes or more – one way to approach this is to do 30 minutes on at least 5 days a week. Comparable benefits can be achieved through 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity spread across the week or combinations of moderate and vigorous intensity activity. It’s also important that adults undertake physical activity to improve muscle strength on at least 2 days a week and to minimise the amount of time spent being sedentary (sitting) for extended periods.

At Complementary Fitness, we offer 4 x 1 hour classes a week which are all fitness based but do incorporate muscle building, bone strengthening, improvement in fitness levels, core and overall strength and flexibility.

Something to think about:

Stop doubting yourself. Work hard and make it happen.

I’m reading a book called Declutter Your Life and look forward to one day (hopefully soon) finding the motivation to start clearing out ‘stuff’ in every room, taking ‘stuff’ to charity: clothes that I haven’t worn/worn for ages, household stuff, getting a system where I deal with paperwork, be more organised and feel more in control rather than being bogged down by the things we accumulate. I/we just seem to add more/buy more and keep things for ages thinking: one day, I’ll use it or wear it. Not that I want to be totally minimalist but just not have so much clutter around.
I also read online about 10 ways to declutter your mind and they are:
1) clean up your physical space
2) get a journal
3) get outside
4) ditch the TV
5) go minimalist (hmm, I couldn’t cope with that, I don’t think?)
6) stop overbooking yourself
7) talk it out
8) put others first
9) embrace your one track mind
10) do nothing at all
