A short newsletter this week but here’s this week’s news & updates:


Just to remind you of the 3 classes that are on this week and they are:

but apologies that there’s no class this Thursday because we’re at a family members funeral.  If you usually can come to our Thursday class, you’re welcome to join us in another class this week instead, it’d be great to see you, thanks.  We’ll be ‘back to normal’ next week with all classes.


We’ve all heard and read that we should aim to walk 10,000 steps a day to improve our health but how fast we walk could be just as important according to new research.


On a different note, last Tuesday, before our class began, we were talking about sugar-free cakes, using up ripe bananas and I mentioned that I made an easy basic cake mix that I often make.  You can start with the 3 basic ingredients then add in other fruit/veg/cacao powder etc to ‘mix it up’ (ha).  Anyway, blend the following ingredients in a food processor:

3 ripe bananas, 4 eggs, 180g almond flour.


You can add it some a teasp of cacao powder or raspberry or other fruit powder or (thanks to a recommendation/suggestion): add in some grated apple and/or grated carrot – ground cinnamon would be nice with that combo too.

When mixed, I pour the mixture into a round silicone shallow cake mould & put into a pre-heated 180 degree oven for around 30 mins.

Instead, you could pour the mixture into a silicone cupcake moulds and reduce the baking time.

You may have noticed that there’s no added sugar in the above recipe and that the sweetness just comes from the bananas, apple or other fruit/powder.  Enjoy and let me know what you think.  Could be a GBBO contender?
