Complementary Fitness 2020 classes start back on Tue 7 January – can’t wait to see you then

Happy New Year to you and I really hope that it’s going to be ‘the best ever’ – full of excitement, possibilities, opportunities, achievements, good health, lots of fitness, fun and laughs with good friends so every best wish for everything that’s great and coming your way.

For us, we can’t wait for the birth of our second grandchild at the end of Feb/beginning of March – woo hoo, not long now.

What’s on the horizon in the next week/month/first quarter of the year for you?

I also can’t wait to get all of our classes up and running again this week and can’t wait to see you, catch up and work out with you.

When we finished up on 14 Dec (seems a long time ago now), I was active and exercised a lot when we were at Club La Santa, Lanzarote for a week – at least 2 classes a day, sometimes 3 or 4 but since then, with Christmas, Boxing Day, Hogmanay etc, lots of food, wine, those dark chocolates (that I was going to avoid!!), I feel that I definitely need to ‘get back on track’ and get into a routine again.

Did you find, like me, that the days (off) over the holidays, just seemed to merge into each other and not knowing what day of the week it actually was?  Some days felt like a Sunday ie quiet, not many people about.  We only went into town a couple of times but not really to the sales this year – oh the shops/sales can be sooo busy.  So as I say, let’s get back to classes again, back to exercising, moving, stretching, flexing, twisting, lunging etc etc – I can’t wait.  Are you ready for 2020 classes and fun with us?  I hope so.

So all our classes are ‘as normal’ this week but just (another) wee reminder about next Tuesday’s change of venue for 14 Jan: as I previously said, Craiglockhart Church Hall is out of action all next week as new double glazed windows are being installed.  Instead, I’ve arranged for us to be in Waterside Social Club, 26 Inglis Green Road which has a hall and a stage (not too high).  Normally, I don’t stand on the stage (substitute ‘normally’ for ‘never’) but as it’s a short step up, and not a high-up stage, I might – depending on class numbers.

Waterside Social Club is on the left side where the entrance to Sainsbury’s car park is.  In fact, it might be best (if driving) to park in Sainsbury’s car park for the hour.  It was the only venue at the time that was available and I’m sure it’ll be fine.

If you’re not sure exactly where it is though, there’s a website which shows the outside of the building and a map too. watersidesocialclub.co.uk or watersidesocialclub.co.uk/location

I love Pinterest.  Did you know that Pinterest has lots of recipes and ideas if you’re planning on a 30 day Veganuary Challenge.  Since 2014, Veganuary has inspired and supported more than 1/2million people in 178 countries to try vegan for January – and beyond.  You can also ‘take the pledge’, find out more or find recipes at https://uk.veganuary.com/recipes

Even if you don’t want to being vegan for a whole month, try Meat Free Mondays.

Some people also sign up for Dry January which is a public health campaign urging people to abstain from alcohol for the month of January, particularly in the UK.  If you’re ready for a fresh start or a challenge, here are 6 benefits to going alcohol-free:

  1. You might learn a lot about your relationship with alcohol
  2. Your sleep and energy may improve
  3. You could save money
  4. You might lose some weight
  5. You might drink less (after Dry January)
  6. Your body will thank you.

Take care and see you soon
