Did you know that…
Last week, my laptop was ‘in getting fixed’ and I’ve got it back now, yesss.
We rely so much on technology these days and really miss things like phones, laptops, ipads as well as household appliances when they need to be fixed or replaced!
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I posed some questions about our 2 Thursday classes which have been quiet numbers-wise for ages (have a look at that Newsletter if you didn’t see it).
Then 2 weeks ago, numbers were quite good in both classes which was great but then last Thurs, the 6.35pm Fitness Yoga class was really quiet again although I know that the weather and illness had a lot to do with it.
Now that March is almost here, I’m hoping that the weather improves and our Thursday classes increase in numbers soon.
A few of you got in touch to say that you’ll be returning to Fitness Yoga or Fitness Pilates and that’s great, thank you – I look forward to seeing you this week/soon.
However, a lot of you said that you’d be interested in a combined class and that 7pm would be a good time if we changed to one class. It kind of depends on both class numbers (if the 6.35pm one is worth continuing with) and if those who come to Fitness Yoga or Fitness Pilates would come to one combined class at 7pm.
I still think that the reason may be that 6.35pm is early for most to get to a class after work and that a slightly later class would suit more (please let me know).
If we combined the classes, and if 7pm was best for the majority, it would mean Fitness Pilates starting and finishing ½ an hour earlier which might suit? (it could still be 7.30pm if best for the majority btw)
So, would a Fitness Yoga/Pilates combo class suit most? – where we introduce a few more stretches into our usual Fitness Pilates class?
PLEASE let me know in person or by email what you think if you normally come to either Thursday class.
Nothing decided yet but feedback would be great and again, it all depends on numbers.
When you start to exercise or attend a class for the first time, it’s best to take the easier options, start at the right level for you, ease into exercise and class then you can progress to harder options once you’ve improved your fitness levels, strength, flexibility etc.
When we start a new exercise class or workout, I know that it can be tough.
You may think that everyone else can do what’s asked of them and that you feel that you can’t bend, squat or do as many sit ups as others but you know what?…. we all have to start somewhere, go through the muscle ache we usually feel a day or 2 after our first class but don’t let that put you off. If you do what you can, ease yourself into it, you’ll soon improve and exercises will become more familiar to you and you’ll notice improvements – I certainly see big improvements in you week by week.
Remember that not drinking enough water may impair your ability to work out and function throughout your day.
Aim to drink water throughout the day and bring water to class and sip it before, during and after your workout.
Your core muscles lie deep within your body and they are important muscles that hold you in correct postural positions.
Did you know that weak core muscles can lead to back, neck and shoulder pain?
In class, we can learn to connect to our core muscles which will help with exercise technique, help to improve posture and in everyday life as well.
Something to think about:
If you want 2017 to be your year: don’t sit on the couch and wait for it. Go out. Make a change. Smile more.
Be excited. Do new things. Throw away what you’ve been cluttering. Unfollow negative people on social media.
Go to bed early. Wake up early. Be fierce. Don’t gossip. Show more gratitude. Do things that challenge you. Be brave.
You are a warrior – you can do it.
Talking about throwing away clutter (above), decluttering seems to be the new ‘in thing’ at the moment.
There are lots of articles, books, videos etc all about the benefits of clearing away, sorting out and I’m really going to get into it soon.
I’ve got a lot of ‘stuff’ that I no longer use, wear and am going to set aside a couple of days to go up to the loft, sort out clothes, shoes, books into what I want to keep and ‘treasure’ and what I no longer need and donate to charity.
Decluttering, getting rid of junk and getting organised is said to reduce stress and give you more space and energy in your home and life and I’m up for that especially with Spring just round the corner.
I’m really looking forward to more fitness, flexibility and fun in our classes this week and look forward to seeing you soon.
